A small team, on purpose.
Functori was founded in 2021 in the Paris region by engineers from research. About eleven people today, five of them PhDs. Small enough that you talk to the people who write the code.

Researchers, hackers and builders.
We like hard problems, and we like solving them properly.
- Research-driven engineering
- We use and build our own tools
- Open source by default when we can
- We support and grow our community
- We work closely with academia
Engineering, research and products feed each other.
Client engineering keeps us on real, demanding systems. Funded research lets us tackle open problems with academic labs. What works becomes a product.
Engineering & advisory
Long engagements on critical systems, such as the core of Tezos since 2021.
Collaborative research
Two funded consortia, one coordinated by us.
Products
Argos, our investigation platform, born from that research.
Selective co-founding
Occasionally, the technical co-founder of a company we believe in. Ventures →
